Chopstick Iftar Offer 2013

I must admit this is a late post for Chopstick Iftar Menu offer since Ramadan is almost over.

Chopstick is one of the new dining which opened recently in Sahara Center (you might be wondering why always Sahara Center??!!our place is just few jumps to this mall..) I'm craving for Chinese food that time so why not give it a try.

They have a Iftar meal that time which cost AED 59.00 per set menu.

Choice: Vegetable Soup
              Spring Roll or Chicken Salad
Chicken with Ginger & Onion or Beef Szechuan
              Water & Dates

Dates & Lemon Drink (?)

Vegetable Soup

Spring roll & Chicken Salad

and these are all of our food :)
cozy ambiance

One set menu is already good for 2 person which they should have inform us beforehand. Unfortunately, we ordered 2 set menu..anyway, the good side is we had taste everything.

Customer service is good but lack in giving information to customer. Place is nice and clean perfect for a quiet talk.

Dinner Date @ Vapiano

Hubby and I decided to try Vapiano which serves Italian pizza's and pasta - this is a newly opened restaurant here in Sahara Center, Sharjah. Upon arrival we're guided with one of the server to our seats and gave us a chipcard. You will use the chipcard when you order your food - I found their concept so cute, you need to go to different station and tap your card (and viola your order will be automatically go to your card and when paying all you have to do is give your card to the server and they'll give your bill) and give your order opppss did I mentioned that they have a open kitchen?! you can watch them cook your meal . I'm just a little bit worried what if the place is full for sure there will be a little traffic going.

Cute center table
Vapiano has four stations: live-cooking for salad and antipasti, pizza, pasta and the bar for desserts and drinks..oh how I love watching  them preparing my meal where I can see they're using the ingredients in their freshness.

Open Kitchen-where you will place your order

Beverage Section

I really love the ambiance of the place-it's chic and fancy and the food is delicious but will not break your pocket.

Here's the breakdown of what we had:

Insalata Mista - Small   22.00
Carbonara                     45.00
BBQ Chicken Pizza     45.00
Orange Carrot Juice      18.00
Watermelon Juice         18.00

TOTAL COST              : 148.00 Dhs.

The serving is huge and we couldn't no longer finish the pizza so we just take it home for breakfast the following day.

Amarela Resort-Panglao, Bohol

I'm been eyeing for a hotel ever since I got interested going to Bohol. I'm not actually avid fan of crowded accommodation or partylike place  - I love staying in a place wherein we can just chill in and relax the whole time. My first choice is Grand Luis Lodge since I read a lot of good review on this hotel (both in blogs and Tripadvisor) but unfortunately they're already fully booked. My second choice was Bohol Bee Farm but  my husband is not a fan of rustic ambiance. Just then I found Amarela Resort, very private resort and it fits to our budget. Now I can say good thing Grand Luis Lodge is fully booked at that time!!!

I took Amarela Resort in Panglao for our accommodation which includes the following for 3D/2N:

1. Superior Room
2. Daily Breakfast
3. Countryside Tour
     - Blood Compact Monument
     - Baclayon Church
     - Clarin Ancestral House
     - Tarsier's Sanctuary
     - Loboc River Cruise w/ Buffet Lunch
     - Man-Made Forest
     - Simply Butterflies Conservation Center
     - Chocolate Hills
4. Dolphin Watching and Balicasag Snorkeling (due to weather they replaced it with Panglao Tour)
5. 1 massage service per person
6. Complimentary Roundtrip Transfers (City-Tagbilaran airport/seaport-Resort)

You can contact them:

Cebu-Bohol Trip 2013

After 2 years of  hard work in the land of the Arab we decided to take a break to breath some air (people working in UAE knows what I mean..). We only had 30 days to spent in the Philippines and as much as possible we want to spend time with family at the same time visit places which we haven't been too.

This time we decided to spend the holiday in Cebu and Bohol. Good thing I'm such addict review reader- It take me 3 months gathering information thru forums and different blogs (what such a bliss-"Thanks to Technology"). We take Cebu as our Enrty and Exit in Visayas region via Cebu Pacific (www.cebupacificair.com) and took ToGo going to Bohol and Wessam going back to Cebu.

Upon arrival in Cebu I called our accommodation which is Fuente de Oro Business Suite (www.fuenteoro.com) to confirm our booking- you know I'm a little bit hesitate coz when I make the reservation they didn't asked for any reservation which sound so strange to me. You can check my review on this hotel in Tripadvisor (www.tripadvisor.com ). On our first day in Cebu we're a little bit confused on where to start good thing when we get down in the lobby the manong security asked us if we want to have a city tour. We hired the taxi for a City Tour at first he's asking price is Php 3000 very pricey huh?! but I make tawad until we settled to  of Php 2000.

These are some photo's we visited:

Taoist Temple

An old Ancestral House and spot I forget the name :(

Magellan's Cross
Santo Nino Shrine

Lapu-Lapu Shrine
The Top is included in our package but since we're already tired and exhausted we just asked the driver to take us in SM to buy a spare battery for our camera..and guess what?!!the moment we got in the mall - heavy rain came down..for a loooongggg time and as if I didn't leave manila -flood is running on me huh!..so there it is my first ever rain experience in Cebu.

Cebu experience will not be completed without tasting their pride lechon. We decided to go to the nearest Lechon shop from our accommodation which is Zubuchon.

We only ordered 1/2 kilo of boneless lechon and Kamias shake to counterpart the cholesterol.

And who will resist for a dessert..off course i should take home Sansrival :)

For the Pasalubongs we when to Tabuan Market for the Danggit and Crispy pusit. I also bought a box of Shamrock's Otap and Dried mango.

Since this is already too long I'll make a separate blog for our Bohol Trip.

When we got back to Cebu after our Bohol trip - hubby and I decided to change our accommodation which is only few blocks away from Fuente de Oro. This is near to Robinson mall and to the Fuente Osmena Circle (opssss I'm not so sure of that circle name hehehe). The hotel name is Hotel Cuatro - it has a cozy ambiance and the room is clean but the corridors are too small and you could hear people who are passing by. But for the price of Php 1750 with free breakfast this is fair enough. And by the way, they allowed us for a late check out..happy me :)

M&S Fruit Selection Chocolate Box

As I promised, I will try my best to share information and reviews based on my experience. And I'll be starting it with my fave chocolate brand.

Last night hubby and I decided to try Fudruckers burgers (but this blog is not bout burgers hehehhe) and after indulging with calories we need to take a walk for a while to burn the fats before coming to bed.

I think this is one of the best visit I had in Mark & Spencer in Festival City..wondering why??!!! There's a lot of foodies on sale which mostly half the price..what a heaven is it??!! I'm a lucky girl.

The chocolate is not that sweet and the flavors inside will burst in your mouth on every bite.

I addicted to M&S chocolates

 With my chocolate addiction:

Chocolate with orange, strawberry and lemon zest filling..what a breeze!

Coming back on what I have started

It's been a quiet sometime that I have not open this account - for so manyyyy reasons I got busy on work..i feel lazy and other stuffs that came across.

But as August month started I promise to my self that I'll be more active in giving more information and somehow knowledge to ours.

I will try my best to make a blog on my favorite recipes, reviews on restaurant and places we visited across UAE and Philippines.

So watch out for my incoming post :)

Lumpiang Sariwa

im been craving for this dish for so loooong...but just recently i'd got my guts to try. For the main reason that we just found out that hubby is diabetic at the same time he has a very high BP and cholesterol level, so ang lolo mo, need ng diet (btw, my hubby is certified carnivorous/carnivore..he hates all kind of leafy vege). Everyday is a task for me to serve delicious at the same time with accordance to his low carbo/low sodium/low fat diet. Let me share my recipe for my first ever fresh Lumpia.

For the Filing:

ground chicken
minced garlic & onion
carrot
cabbage
sweet potato
baguio/green beans
salt and pepper to taste
Romaine lettuce

1. Heat your pan with olive oil. When the pan is hot enough add in the ground chicken until it change it's color. Put in your onion and garlic. Saute well.
2. When the onions are translucent in color, it's the time for you to add in your carrots, cabbage, sweet potato and baguio beans.
Note: No need to add water the vegetables will produce it's own water which is enough.
3. Seasoned with salt and pepper.

You may noticed the differ in color of my wrapper that is because i make three different kinds of wrapper.as i mentioned my hubby is diabetic that's why i preferred a special wrapper for him.

For the Wrapper:

Cornstarch Wrapper

3 pcs. egg
1 3/4 cup milk
salt
Low fat & Low Carbo Wrapper

1 1/2 cup Diabetic flour
3 pcs. egg
1 3/4 cup milk
salt
a dash of sugar

1. Mix all the ingredients.Make sure that everything is well corporated.
2. Heat a teflon pan and spray olive oil.
3.When the pan is heated enough put in your batter and spread it all over the surface of your pan. Your wrapper is cooked if it is no longer stick to the pan.

For the Sauce:

ground peanut
6 tbsp. cornstarch dissolved in 6 tbsp. of water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup soy sauce
pepper

1. Mix all the ingredients except the dissolved cornstarch.
2. Simmer. Boil for 3-5 mins.
3. Add in the dissolved cornstarch..Mix well until the desired thickness.
